Not much where I went. Saturday had some snowy bits, but fairly soft (and many thanks to a group in front of me who'd left foot-holes already on a lot of the route!). Sunday was similar, apart from one stretch coming off the split summit of Beinn Alligin where the surface had frozen over. We probably should have put crampons on, but it didn't look long enough to bother. It's surprising how slowly you go when you're hacking steps in ice, compared to stabbing in bits of metal strapped to your feet. I don't think there was a massive amount of climbing ice, but you'll have to ask someone else about that as I'm not generally looking.

There was bugger all ice about for the most part. There wasn't anything climbable really in Corrie Mhic Fhearchair. No snow whatever on buttresses and what there was in the gullies was soft and avalanche prone. Pity, cos I wanted to climb Fuselage Gully and take a look at the wreckage. Still, I think the weather made up for it!

It was me (Joe), not Andy, on Beinn Alligin on Sunday, by the way. I know we're both bearded, but still...

Tom and I did Liathach on Sunday. It was a beautiful sunny day and as we were walking up the steep slope to the first summit (we did it east to west) we could see and hear the ice which had formed on the crags breaking off - not a sound you would want to hear if you were climbing, but quite nice for a walk in the sun! It was pretty warm in the sun. We looked down some of the gullies on the north side of the ridge and some looked pretty full of snow, but quite a few also had partially collapsed cornices on top which looked pretty unstable. We also heard a noise which might have been a cornice collapsing. It was really a spring day in Torridon - and quite a surprise to find winter in Edinburgh on Monday.

So it was Joe, sorry. My memory's no use at the best of times.

I'm going to Torridon on Saturday!! For a week!! Woohoo!!

One black extremities (thin) glove.....just on the offchance anyone found it in the bus, gearshed, their car.... N
Not sure when I lost it, possibly that walk in the Pentlands - Craig, Stuart? (I seemsto remember discussing the gloves)

Anyway, its partner is a bit lonesome.
