I thought there was a suggestion of the Southsider last week, but if there's a good reason to go to the Bow Bar instead I'm fine to give it a go. As with last week, I'll be late and carrying a 7 foot longbow - appropriate for the Bow Bar!

Stupidly late update, Ossians is called Carters. Still on Morrison Street. If anyone finds it it'll be a miracle...

The pub this week, as dictated by Mr Fasham, will be the Guildford Arms on West Register Street. It is opposite the Balmoral Hotel. See yis there!

Thanks Sarah, I was just about to make a last-minute plea for tonight's secret location to be revealed.

Dave suggested last night that we take nominations now for the term-time pub, then we can 'audition' them over the next few weeks to decide where to go. His suggestion for the first candidate was the Chanter. I don't really know the various pubs well enough to name names, but we'd probably be looking for one that's not too far from the 25 or 34 bus routes, on the West side of the centre, but within easy walking distance in for those who want to go to somewhere else afterwards.

I'm up for giving the Chanter another try. There was a reason we stopped going there in the first place - it got too noisy (loud DJ music) and busy. But it might have changed again. And it is quite cheap. Will we go there next week? If it is really crap we can always go over the road to the Blue Blazer.

Aye, let's go to the Chanter next week. I admit to being biased by it being 5 minutes walk from my flat, but even so, I reckon it's worth us taking a look at least.

I think a swift pint in there then over to the blazer sounds like a brilliant plan! I think possibly the oxford, the guildford arms, Teuchters on william street or something nearby it, erm...... the caley??

Although surely a swift pint in there, then to an other pub defeats the point of going to see if it would make a good pub (I agree if it's really shit we can just pop across the road). it also wouldn't work as everybody arrives at random times would people coming late just head to the blazer? or should we have a stream of people going for a swift pint in the chanter by themselves before joining everyone in the blazer?

Guildford arms is quite hard to find I'd guess given the lack of people there on wednesday, although it does have live jazz at the moment

The pub this week again is the CHANTER on Bread Street. Spread the word. I might be there. Hopefully.

This weeks pub will be the Blue Blazer, as suggested by Andy hurriedly at the end of last weeks pub visit and agreed by all in the general vicinity who heard the suggestion. Hopefully we can get seats. Any major problems with that?
