Just wanting to check that this is still going ahead and for the 4 days. (minibus allowing)

Who's thinking of going and does anyone have plans of what they want to do?

Let's hope the weather is as good as last year.

We're planning on going but it depends how smoothly our house move goes the weekend before.

Don't have any specific plans except to do some longish not too hard climbs if the weather allows. And maybe the Inn Pinn.

I'm definitely planning to go. I'm also hoping to do a good bit of climbing, and some recces on the main ridge. I'd like to the full ridge, but not this year, so I want to check out some of the hard bits this time round.

Other than that, I'm hoping to enjoy the wonderful weather and complete lack of biting insects!

Planning to go, conditional on getting round to getting some boots before then. Might try the full ridge if anyone else wants to give it a go (Florian?), but otherwise the Northern end (North of Sgurr na Mhadaidh) in bits as I can scrounge lifts.

That is the first time I can remember hearing a sensible approach to doing the ridge from a club member!
The "best" attempt I am aware of (in the sense of the "best" driver award) involved trudging up to Sgurr Dubh Mor with all the slow people in the club then getting stuck at the TD gap some time in the early evening...

This link has some useful info about the route: http://www.needlesports.com/advice/cuillinridge.htm
Doing the section from the TD gap to the Inn Pinn might make quite a nice day route.

I'm not going :-( But I've got a week in Skye in June :-) (Anybody kicking around the w/c 13th June, sees a nice weather forecast, and wants to do some easy mountain stuff - get in touch!)

My work follows Edinburgh Uni holidays, which means I get the long weekend you guys would have got
(before Musketeer b*ggered up the whole of HWU's year by insisting on Semesters, and so on).

So I'll be in WALES the weekend before!!! :-)

Ha ha ha!

Yes, folks, humble pie is being eaten on my part, but I got an offer to hard to refuse :-)
(ie. 4 walls and a roof in Llaberis - trumps a tent in Skye, I'm afraid)

Enjoy

I thought the best attempt was Andy and Jack getting me and Sarah to wait in the car park of the Sligachan Hotel till 3am....

That's Andy and Jack for you! Were they hobbling as much as they were after the Snowdonia 3000s?
TD to In Pin does make a good day route from Glen Brittle. Did it last year, no major problems with getting round or timing.

From the Next Meet details [quote]...except it's a bit closer so both buses will be leaving at around 7pm...[quote]

If whoever wrote that thinks that Closer=Less Time. Either they are getting a bit confused about the difference between a Motorway and a scottish A-road or they have made some serious performance and handling modifications to the minibus!

Ah yes - I remember that attempt. Freezing our asses off in the car when the bar kicked us out, and missing the "boring German bonfire" (not my words, any Germans reading this)! But at least they managed it. And no, Alex, they weren't hobbling quite as much, but they did look like the walking dead the whole of the next day.

Well, I'm not missing the bonfire this time, as I have most of a bed to burn. So bring your rude songs!

Joe, and anyone else looking for space: I'll be taking my tent, and it'll fit 2 with no problems or 3 who don't mind getting kit mixed up (as with so many, it's labelled for 3 but fits more like 2 + kit).
Jon: If it's anything like last year there'll still be light in the sky at 1:00 am, so at least we shouldn't be too blind for pitching tents. Those who sleep in the bus have to pitch tents, as they'll be more awake?
Sarah: We've got the Club song-books, plus I can provide some songs, including some for before all the kids have stopped running about. Knew there was some worthy excuse for going to the Royal Oak!

Hope the weather will be better than I've just had in Wales - torrential rain mixed in with lots of wind! I wouldn't have gone if I was camping!

Still, we managed Snowdon from Penypass via Y Liwedd, and 2 climbs in 2 days at Tremadog
(Christmas Curry and Poor Man's Peuterey - if only the weather had been like this! http://www.ukclimbing.com/images/dbpage.html?id=77931
A big thank you to Christian L).

Fantastic to meet up with Sarah #1 and Christian once again - he's an awesome climber now IMO - really professional at belays, a joy to climb with.

Pete's Eats is cool, and the gear shops awesome!

A cool trip - Enjoy Skye :-)

I wrote that!

I'm fairly sure we can get ourselves up to 62mph down that road. At this point I'll point out I haven't been to Skye since I was 6, and as such have no idea what the road is like!
