Glenmore Lodge Courses

Postby Madfrog on Mon Nov 26, 2007 7:10 pm

I attended the 'Basic winter skills' course last year and my only regret is that it wasn't long enough... ;) I was very pleased with it.
You'll learn how to navigate in complete darkness, crampon yourself on the slopes, sleep in the snow...
Our instructor, James, went down to the details to explain things. Clear and concise style. Very good.
The groups are small. 6-7 people in my group, if I remember well.
However, the lunch packs they give you are not really big. Not enough!

But that was just my opinion. I don't know what others think.

I'm not getting any commission here, I can only recommend them to everybody.

Yup, I agree, they're excellent, can't recommend them enough!

The instructors are great, really knowledgeable about everything to do with the hills and mountains, all the wildlife and weather and everything, which I really liked! You can ask them lots of questions too.

Wunderbar.

sarah and i are doing a winter climbers workshop on the 19th and avalanche awareness on 20th - so we'll be up there with you that week. Kyle is planning on doing the basic on the 12th and the advanced (with you i guess) on the 19th...

Not heard from anybody else!

final deadline for handing in the forms is wednesday.

they really are worth it and you'll find that anyone who's any use on the mountain has probably done one ;)

Glenmore lodge is awesome too.

If anyone else is interested in the avalanche awareness or the winter climber's workshop that Christian and I are doing, email us or the club and we can give you details.

turrah now
