So, is the weather crappy enough to stop us going to the meadows or not? I reckon we're due at least one more thunderstorm today, but my opinion is sod it, go to the meadows and if the heavens open, run for cover.

Are we not a mountaineering club in more than name? Does a bit of water from the sky put us off beer and fun?

Answers on a postcard please, to the club address.

It seems even the rumour of some water puts you off - I went to the Meadows, but no-one was there. Maybe we should be a bit more specific about which bit of the Meadows next time, it's a bit bigger than your average pub.

Links pub Wednesday? 9pmish? Meadows beforehand - if it's nice, the nearest the Bruntsfield Links end - I haven't actually looked at the weather forecast....

The forecast's not that good at the minute, but there's plenty of time for that to change. Here's hoping!

Pub this Wednesday - Guilty Lily?? Bonnington Road. Get off no 11 bus on Pilrig Street, or hop off on Leith Walk and walk down Pilrig Street

http://www.guiltylily.com/

They have a rather nice menu of food if you happened to be there early and wanted to eat....the pile of nachos is massive! And they have boardgames.....what you think?

sounds good, does anyone want to go climbing at A2 before hand as it's just around the corner from there?

Agreed, sounds good. Board games and good food, should be a minimum requirement for all pubs.

If I'm not out on the bike ride I'll be at A2 Dave. What time were you thinking?

After speaking to Stuart last night, I think it's probably easier if we keep the pub meet at the Guilty Lily and we can just walk down there after the meeting. It's not far at all.

So did we reach a decision about the pub this week? I don't remember one but that means almost nothing. There's a "beer festival" starting at the Bow Bar this wednesday, but it's not a normal beer festival. They've got lots of barrels of lots of different beer but there'll only be 8 different ones each night. I think it lasts for about a week and a half so if we don't go on Wednesday there's still loads of time to go at some other time.

So suggestions for this week?

Ok, after discussing this with at least one other person I propose that we go to the Bow Bar on Victoria Street. If no-one comes up with anything else, that's where I'm going!
