Fontainebleau in Easter

Postby Jargon on Mon Nov 17, 2008 5:36 pm

I'm wanting to go back to Font for a few days this easter - while i know it's early this is both to get people thinking about this before they make other plans and to try to get cheap deals. Flights to paris are currently ~£80 with easy jet or ~£120 for more flexable times with air france. the aim would be to get a car load of people organised asap to book flight and car rental while they are still cheap. Post below if you're interested or have questions.

Ah, Paris in Springtime - very romantic, I believe.

Still waiting to find out exactly when i'll have time to go - then will get into the booking for which there are several options the main choices being:
fly out and rent a car(expensive but fastest - best if people have limited time off)
drive and get a ferry/either from dover(V. cheap & quick)
or from rosyth (more expensive&longer - but easier on drivers)

There is also the issue of accomodation while there is an easy campsite it's expensive for what you get. yes it can be great fun socailising in the evenings with a large group but this is harder if the weather isn't great. I'd suggest looking in to renting a gite (hopefully one that people could sleep on the floor in bringing the price down) - Would anyone interested in going who speaks french mind doing a quick investigation of avalibilty and price?

can people interested in coming let me know their thoughts (and who they are and how likely they are to make it?)

I'm thinking about it - mainly cos I love France and will take a look at gites for you later on today when I wake up a bit....was it 17th ish April?

I can report that Leith Victoria swimming pool is very nice and a bargainous £3.70.

true, it's really nice, but sometimes there are some weird men hanging out telling you that you swim like a frog and shouldn't stop doing so - slightly creepy...

so be prepared 8)

Thanks for the tip :)

I'm a master of avoiding eye contact so think I'll be ok. Plus I don't swim like a frog.
