I think the article's quite good! It's not written for mountaineers and is quite light-hearted. Coulda been worse!

true but it just conjoured a wonderful image in my head, of the BBCs idea of technical climbing as some cross between vertical limit and the opening scene of mission impossible 2(i think) - which is i guess where they got the idea from!

I like the idea of "rummaging for an ice axe", particularly on an over-hang - they'll be dry-tooling their way up then? There are a few "tools" going I see, so they'll be alright then.

Can I fossick (copyright Boris Johnson) around for a Friend then?
