So, which one is it? This one or this other one?

And after pointing it out, how cool of an ascent is it? Are we to expect another snow-to-your-waist windy steep hell of a mountain like Lawers? :D

If I remember correctly (and if it's the right mountain I'm remembering: the one behind the Cobbler?) it's a fairly good trek up a valley to a bealach, then you've got a choice of Munros depending which way you turn. I think there are two or three there, none of which lead on to much of a ridge, but which can be done fairly easily as out-and-backs. Not too bad underfoot: when I was there, another group had brought champagne and an accordion, as it was someone's last Munro to complete the collection. Of course, that was in summer so I don't know what it's like under snow, but I don't remember any massively hairy bits that would cause problems.

I remember correctly, but about the wrong mountain. The comments above are about Beinn Ime and Beinn Narnain with the Cobbler (from the back) as an option we didn't take; Ben Vorlich is on the other side of a reservoir from that group. And it's the wrong Ben Vorlich. The Loch Earn one looks like a decent day's hike, and the ridge out to Stuc A' Chroin should be interesting: between two corries, but not too narrow.

Any (qualified) volunteers?

Ok, now I'm getting nervous. There're seven of us now (and tomorrow possibly eight), so we won't fit in Cyril's car. Any drivers, please? :P

Hello,

bump

Would have liked to have had a go at this one and could have provided transport for 4 (+ me), but my car was vandalised and has gone in for repair, leaving me with no transport at the moment.

Hope you find a driver and have a good trip.

Regards,
Trev

And now you have enough space (we can leave you a whole seat!) for doing your homework, Andy, so no excuses, and come with us. Same goes for you, Colin. 8)

Unfortunately I can't read whilst in a car without feeling sick, so have fun!

I also don't really like the thought of a lot of my own blood, let alone the actual deliberate presence of it

I don't get it; what you mean with your blood making you dizzy? :?

P.S. You missed a hell of a trip! Twice the wind and snow in your face at Ben Lawers, twice the cold, and twice the goddam fun! Uploading the pics right now! :D

I'm not so keen on the thought of bleeding out (oddly enough), so tried to out manly it by staring at my blood being taken for a test, woke up on the floor. I'm now slightly more careful. Oddly I think I'd be ok with a large amount of bleeding, its things like nicked arteries that ain't my fav.

But enough of this nonsense
